About Me
Marcus Weir
Horticulture Writer & Plant Growth Researcher
I've spent the better part of two decades tending gardens, greenhouses, and forest floors—mostly driven by curiosity about why things grow the way they do. What started as a backyard vegetable patch evolved into a genuine obsession with growth patterns across plants, fungi, minerals, and the natural world. I'm especially fascinated by the overlooked details: how ferns propagate from spores, why certain fungi thrive on bare rock, and whether something like concrete can actually "grow." My garden is a testing ground for these questions, and I document what I learn through writing. I keep a rotating collection of houseplants, and my two rescue cats seem entirely unbothered by my constant experiments.
